AN INTERVIEW WITH LUCIE DUN, EEMCP

celtic_spiral

Tell me a bit about yourself, your background, where you live, etc.

Hi, I am Lucie and I am an Eden Energy Medicine Certified practitioner (EEMCP).

There are two countries I hold dear to my heart – the Czech Republic and the UK. I was born and grew up in Prague, and in 2000, when I was 23, I moved to the UK.

My dream was to play keyboards in rock bands and to teach English. During my very first week in the UK, I met the band of my dreams and started playing with them. We performed at many venues and festivals, including Glastonbury.

I also started studying English, did my CAE and CPE Cambridge exams, and in 2004 I became a qualified TEFL teacher. One of my fondest memories is teaching in a small English college in Museum Street, near The British Museum in London. I loved the family atmosphere of the college, with international students from all over the world. It was such a fun and creative job.

In the following years, I also worked as an assistant for people with physical disabilities and volunteered at homeless shelters, spending nights in church halls with the guests. I witnessed stories of deep suffering as well as hope.

Now I live with my husband Aidan and our dog Orson in a small village near Guildford, Surrey, surrounded by beautiful hilly countryside. We moved here after 18 years of living in London, when we felt that our city chapter was complete and wished to be closer to nature.

How did you discover energy medicine? What led you to it?

One summer day, in 2018, when we still lived in London, something strange happened to me. I was at home with Aidan, expecting a visit from a good friend of ours, when all of a sudden I could feel distinct electrical energy leaving my body through my arms. I was observing this sensation with a mixture of anxiety and curiosity – it felt as if I was connected to a cable, feeling the buzzing and the movement of the electric current very distinctly.

This was the first time ever that I experienced losing energy – but not in the usual way of getting tired; this type of energy was tangible, buzzing, moving – it felt like an electric current.

In similar way that electricity gives power to electrical appliances, I felt that this force that was travelling through my arms and out of my body was the energy that was keeping me ‘switched on’ like an electrical appliance; and now, as it was leaving me, I started losing the strength to stand, and eventually slumped to the floor.

This was followed by a series of blackouts – all I could see was darkness, although I was conscious. It felt as if there was a light bulb in my head that kept switching on and off due to intermittent power cuts.

It all got quite scary. I thought I might have been poisoned, or something like that. My husband and our friend, who arrived in the middle of this, called an ambulance.

As I was driven to the hospital, I could hear the ambulance staff saying ‘possible heart attack’. I remember thinking: “I wasn’t expecting to die today, but it seems my time has come.” (I was 41 at that time.) Strangely enough, these thoughts were not accompanied by emotions of fear or panic; I was acknowledging the grim possibility quite factually, almost surrendering to it.

However, after several hours in the hospital (where I was unconscious most of the time) I was released without any diagnosis. It was rather puzzling that the whole team of medical staff (as well as all the hi-tech diagnostic equipment I was connected to) couldn’t say what was happening to my body.

The last strange thing was that as I came round and was led by my husband through the long corridor towards the exit, I could only walk extremely slowly because my body felt as if it was made of concrete. Or, that the air around me was as thick as concrete and I couldn’t push through it.

I had to develop a huge effort to light my legs, as if they were attached to heavy weights. It was like watching slowed-down film footage. To this day I am not sure what caused this state; perhaps the electrical energy that I was losing earlier that day was still too weak..?

The whole experience made me strongly interested in the electrical aspect of the body; I wanted to learn about that inner energy that animates us, that makes it possible to walk and move our limbs with ease, rather than heaviness…I no longer took it for granted!

So when I learned about ‘the Queen of Energy Medicine’, Donna Eden, who often quotes Einstein’s E = mc2  – meaning that energy and matter are interchangeable, i.e. they’re just different forms of the same thing – and that we can work with energy and influence it to benefit our health, I jumped at the first opportunity to learn more about it.

I got Donna’s book ‘Energy Medicine’, watched dozens of her videos, and enrolled in her Certification Program. Two years later, I became a certified practitioner.

Lucie forest bathing

What do you like the most about Eden Energy Medicine? Why would you recommend it to others?

I love the fact how deceptively simple the techniques can appear, but how effective they can be. I remember, when I was still learning the basics, how excited I always was when I could see that the techniques really ‘worked’.

For example, a friend of mine was in quite intense pain from her period. I had just learned some techniques for pain-relief, so we decided to try them. I gently held a set of acupressure points on her, and after about three minutes she looked at me with a mixture of excitement and disbelief, saying that the pain had completely gone.

What I also like about Eden Method is the ‘energy detective’ aspect. A client might come to us with a certain issue, e.g. a pain in a specific area; although as energy medicine practitioners we are not allowed to make any medical diagnosis, we can ‘ask the body’ instead, by tracking the client’s energies.

To track energies, we use energy testing tools adapted from kinesiology; this helps us assess the strength of energy flow through specific muscles or other systems, which can reveal various imbalances (e.g. too little or too much energy in a given area, polarity issues, etc). We can then apply specific techniques or protocols to balance those systems.

I can never forget the words of a little girl who came to me for a session, accompanied by her mother. At the end of the session, she said in her sweet childlike way: “If there is a job such as energy detective, then you are pretty good at it.” It makes me smile to this day.

I can recommend Energy Medicine to others because I have seen how much it has helped people who practice it, and how it has helped me personally; I used to be very vulnerable to catching colds, but since I committed to a daily practice of simple energy medicine techniques, my immune system has become remarkably stronger. There was an uninterrupted period of four years when I didn’t catch a single cold! I also became much more emotionally resilient.

These energy medicine techniques are called The Daily Energy Routine. They were compiled by Donna Eden, who selected the most effective techniques from her more than 40 years long practice.

This leads me to another reason I love Energy Medicine – the fact that this modality is such an empowering tool; that we can learn simple techniques that will make us feel better physically and emotionally, and reach for them whenever we wish.

Unlike some modalities where clients are dependent on receiving treatments, in Eden Energy Medicine the clients might come for a few sessions, or even just one, and they will leave equipped with self-care techniques that they can do at home daily, and thus take their health into their own hands – literally.

Tell me a bit more about your practice; where do you work, and what are the most common issues that bring your clients to you?

I offer energy healing sessions from my home studio in Surrey, UK, near Guildford. I also work from a holistic therapy centre called Surrey Holistic, based in nearby Godalming.

I also do online sessions, where I lead my clients through techniques specific to their situation.

The type of clients who come to me most often are mostly people with low immunity, chronic fatigue, unexplained or long-term pain, anxiety, insomnia, and emotional issues.

In the very thorough 3 years of Eden Method training, we have learned and practiced multiple protocols, including protocols for hormonal balance, recovering from cancer, or heart health, so I also accept clients who seek support in these areas.

Are there any other modalities you practice?

Yes, I am also a certified Biofield Tuning Practitioner. I use the sound and vibration of tuning forks to help restore coherence in the human Biofield. This is similar to tuning an instrument. If you feel ‘out of tune’, try a Biofield Tuning session. This modality is compatible with Energy Medicine, because both work with electromagnetic waves and frequencies. I have written more about it in a post about Biofield Tuning.

How can people find out more about you? Through a website or social media?

Yes, there are several options:

– My main blog about Energy Medicine: naturegrooves.com

– Website for enquiries about my private practice: equlibriumenergies.com

– Facebook profile: Lucie Dun

– Facebook business page: Equilibrium Energies

– YouTube channel: Equilibrium Energies

– Eden Method directory of certified practitioners: Lucie Dun, EEMCP

– The website of Surrey Holistic, a centre for Functional Medicine in Godalming.

Is there anything specific you would like to offer our readers? For example, a digital or physical product, a live or online course/workshop, an upcoming event, a retreat, etc.?

Yes, I am pleased to offer three things:

First, I have created a 5-minute meditative soundtrack with meridian affirmations. I listen to it in the morning while tracing my meridians, or just tuning into the energy of each meridian.

I also think it’s a good study tool for energy medicine students, as it will help them remember what emotions are associated with specific meridians.

You can find the track on this page:

https://naturegrooves.com/product/meridian-wheel-affirmations

Secondly, I’ve compiled several charts for EEM practitioners – e.g. a very detailed chart for The Star Diagnostic protocol with all the instructions and emotions, so the practitioners can fully focus on this powerful protocol, rather than trying to remember all the steps and emotions.

The charts are downloadable from the page Shop.

Finally, I can recommend a page called ‘Tools for Energy Medicine Practitioners’.  My aim was to create a time-saving resource for EEM practitioners and students.

tools-for-energy-healing-practitioners

Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers at the end of this interview?

Yes. I believe that we, the practitioners of holistic healing, shouldn’t underestimate the importance of self-care – i.e. frequently recharging our energy so we can then abundantly share it with others.

One of my favourite ways to recharge is to have exchange sessions with my colleagues from the holistic healing field. This can be either with fellow practitioners of Eden Energy Medicine, or with my colleagues at Surrey Holistic, who practice different kinds of modalities.

If you are a practitioner and have a holistic centre in your area, I strongly recommend joining it so you can network with your colleagues, explore various healing modalities, and mutually receive treatments, which is a beautiful way of energy exchange.

Exploring the Healing Potential of Selenite in Energy Healing

In the realm of energy healing, using crystals and gemstones has been a common practice for thousands of years. Selenite, a radiant and ethereal crystal, is one of the most widely used healing stones because of its range of healing properties. Let’s delve into the fascinating world of this powerful energy healing tool and learn about its potential to support healing on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.

What is Selenite?

Selenite, a form of gypsum crystal, derives its name from the Greek word “selÄ“nitÄ“s,” meaning “moonstone” or “moon rock.” This mineral is renowned for its striking appearance, characterized by its translucent white color and delicate, fibrous structure. With origins deeply rooted in ancient civilizations, selenite has been revered for its association with the moon and its metaphysical properties.

My personal experience

I have been aware of the clearing, purifying properties of selenite for years thanks to my husband who attaches chipped selenite on the walls in our house to clear negative energies from the rooms.

But I started to appreciate its power properly only after I was enquiring on behalf of a client how to help her with her migraines. Several of my colleagues, including advanced Eden Method practitioners, have recommended placing selenite on the painful areas.

My client bought two palm stones and whenever she could feel her migraine kicking in, she held them on the most painful areas for several minutes.

After about a week I got a happy email from her, describing how effective the selenite palm stones were for relieving her strong headaches.

Another client suffered from lower back pains, and she, too, reported a noticeable pain relief after tying selenite palmstones over her lower back.

Selenite in the hands of renowned energy healers

Donna Eden, a prominent figure in the field of energy medicine, incorporates selenite into her healing protocols to support emotional wellbeing and balance.

So is her daughter, Titanya Dahlin, whom I’ve been lucky to meet in person during my 3rd year of Eden Method training.

In the following video, Titanya shares how selenite helped emotionally as well as physically; she experienced relief from heartache as well as lower back pain.

You can find out more about Titanya from her website, https://energymedicinewoman.com

The Healing Properties of Selenite

Selenite is often utilized in energy healing practices for its ability to cleanse and purify the energetic body, and can often contribute to pain relief by freeing stagnant energy.

By placing selenite on specific energy centers or meridian points, practitioners can enhance the effectiveness of their treatments and facilitate energetic alignment and balance.

This crystal is also believed to promote emotional stability, soothe feelings of anxiety or stress, and foster a sense of inner peace and tranquillity. I like having my selenite near me during my meditation practice.

How to Incorporate Selenite into Your Energy Healing Practice

Pain relief

Place a selenite palm stone or a wand on the area of pain.

Massaging Neurolymphatic points

Use either the rounded end of the selenite wand to stimulate your Neurolymphatic points, to help your lymph flow and carry away toxins from your body.

Stimulating acupressure points

Use either the rounded or the pointed end of the selenite wand to stimulate an acupressure point. This will activate the flow of ‘chi’ – the healing energy in your body, and target specific organs or symptoms (according to your choice of an acupressure point. Use a selenite wand or crystal to gently sweep through the auric field, clearing away energetic debris and restoring balance and harmony to the subtle energy body.

Meditation and Contemplation

Incorporate selenite into your meditation practice by holding a piece of the crystal in your hand or placing it nearby. Hold the intention that the crystal’s serene energy will accompany you on your spiritual journey and keep you anchored in the wonder of the present moment.

Where to Get Your Selenite

Selenite, with its gentle yet powerful energy, deserves to be a part of every energy healing practitioner’s kit.

There are many physical and online stores where you can get your selenite. I get my selenite from an online crystal store called Psychic Tree.

The following products – and many more – are available from the Psychic Tree store.

Along with these beautiful selenite gifts, I particularly recommend visiting their amazing crystal collection.

Share Your Own Experience

Let me know in the comments below about your own experience with selenite. Do you primarily use it for space clearing? Or have you experimented with placing it on your heart during times of heartache, or has is diminished your physical pain? I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Website Tips for Your EEM Business

Website Tips for Your EEM Business

Siterubix - free website builder

Dear Colleagues from the field of Energy Medicine,

For anyone who is not sure where to start in terms of setting up their website as an EEM Practitioner, here are a few tips.

(If you already have a website, feel free to share it in the comments below!)

Disclaimer: This page contains affiliate links – i.e. if you make a purchase through those links, you will help me to earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you for your support!

If you’d like to learn more about affiliate marketing, e.g. how to earn extra income from blogging and promoting products you like and would recommend to others, see my article Earn Online by Blogging.

So, if you would like to have a website, here are four possible options to consider:

Option 1:

Choose an All-in-One Platform to Build Your Website

This might be the most straightforward option, yet with stunning results. You choose an ‘all-in-one’ platform such as Squarespace that offers everything – a domain, hosting, and beautiful, easy-to-custom templates.

First, you choose from the library of templates to find a template that resonates with your vision of your future website, then you can customize it with colors, fonts, images, and content.

The pricing at Squarespace is about £12 – £17 a month, which means it will probably be a bit more expensive option than the other options listed here.

However, if you have absolutely zero experience with building websites and would like to have a top-class website up and running soon, it is an investment worth considering. Squarespace has made the process of building a website very easy, using a ‘drag-and-drop’ technique – something you will not get with free WordPress templates.

You also have the option of a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, so there is nothing to lose. If after those 2 weeks you are not convinced, you might consider the other options listed on this page.

PROS:

  • Great for total beginners – it should be quite easy to build a beautiful website within a short time

CONS:

  • Probably more costly than the other options mentioned in this post (saying that, I recommend comparing price plans and making your own calculations)

SUMMARY:

This might be your option if you are willing to invest in a great-looking, professional website and want the process to be as straightforward as possible. I would recommend it especially to people who are not experienced with building websites and want as little technical hassle as possible. My opinion is that it’s well worth the 14 days free trial, while checking out the cheaper options and comparing what would suit you best.

Option 2:

Choose a Hosting Platform with Free WordPress Templates

This is another common way to set up a website: You will choose a hosting platform and a domain name.

I’ve written a blog post about several reliable hosting platforms. You can compare their price plans, and once you have decided on your preferred hosting platform, you’ll register your domain name with them. (Or if you already have a domain name, their customer services will help you transfer it onto their platform.)

All of the platforms listed in my post offer free WordPress templates, that you can customise to your needs.

If you are not experienced in customising a WordPress template, you can reach out to customer services for guidance.

You can choose from seven web hosting platforms in the following post:

Recommended web hosting platforms for 2023

PROS:

  • Priceplans usually more affordable than Squarespace (Option 1)

CONS:

  • Customising a standard (free) WordPress theme may be more time-consuming than the easy drag-and-drop website builders in Option 1 (Squarespace) or Option 3 (The DIVI theme), so if you are a total beginner, you may need some help from someone familar with WordPress, or spend a considerable getting guidance from customer service.

SUMMARY:

This is the ‘middle-of-the-road’ option. Most of the hosting plans in my blog post are cheaper than the Squarespace subscription cost, and you can always reach out to customer support for help with customising your WordPress template.

I, personally, have found most of the templates a bit inflexible, but you can always give it a go and see if you like it, because most of these hosting platforms should offer you a free trial.

Option 3:

Choose a Hosting Platform and Buy a Premium WordPress Theme

This is almost the same procedure as in Option 2, with the exception that after purchasing your hosting plan and a domain, you also purchase a premium WordPress theme. (Premium themes are paid. Standard themes are free.)

You may be wondering why bother paying for a theme when WordPress offers hundreds of free templates?

Because the free WordPress templates are not always easy to customise. Often they have quite ‘busy’, complicated designs and that can be a bit daunting when you try to adjust that.

I am not a professional web designer nor a WordPress expert, so I was struggling with customising the free templates.

Eventually, I learned about a paid theme called The DIVI Theme, tried it, and found it so user-friendly that I invested in it, and have built several websites with this theme.

I have used the Divi theme for this very website, as well as my other EEM practitioner’s website called Equilibrium Energies. It made sp many things easier, for example uploading a video on the Home page.

You can have a look here:

Equilibrium energies

Here is my review of the DIVI theme including a discount:

The Divi Theme

PROS:

  • The DIVI Theme is easy to use, contains drag-and-drop web builder elements (like Squarespace, and unlike standard WordPress themes)

CONS:

  • The DIVI Theme costs $89 per year, or $249 one-off payment.
  • You also have to pay for hosting and domain from a separate hosting platform of your choice. (See my article on the best-rated web hosting platforms)

SUMMARY:

This has been my personal option. I invested $249 in one-off payment to purchase the DIVI theme (because I wasn’t too good at customising the free WordPress themes), but now I own this easily customisable theme for life and haven’t regretted this investment once. I’ve always preferred paying a one-off sum rather than a long-term subscription.

So, if you are like me and like things as simple as possible, I would either go for the DIVI Theme, or Squarespace (in Option 1).

Just remember that with DIVI Theme you’ll have to pay for a separate web hosting platform and a domain name. If you chose Squarespace, the web hosting fee will be included in their overall price.

Option 4:

Free Website with Free Hosting

This is the fastest, easiest, and cheapest option – i.e. everything is free.

If you’d like to create a website with completely free hosting and domain name, you may want to try platforms such as Wix.com, or SiteRubix which I can recommend based on my own experience.

You will get hundreds of free WordPress themes to choose from and don’t have to pay for either hosting or a domain name.

However, as with all free options, there is one thing to consider:

Similarly to wix.com, if you are hosting on a completely free account, your website name will have its name in it – for example aromatherapy.wix.com, or aromatherapy.siterubix.com.

If you would like to remove the company name, you would have to upgrade to a paid option.

In my opinion, it is still a good way to get started with your website. You can create a simple ‘mock’ website, and during this process, it will become clearer to you how you would like your website to look eventually.

I started this very website through SiteRubix, tried a number of free WordPress themes that they provided, and only a few months later I upgraded my hosting membership and purchased a paid theme (DIVI) because I wanted to have more freedom in designing multiple websites.

You can try building your free website within the following article:

Free website and hosting

PROS:

  • You can have your free website ready almost instantly, and host it for free – indefinitely – as well!

CONS:

  • You’ll have to keep the word Siterubix in the name of your website, unless you upgrade to a paid Premium membership.

SUMMARY:

Creating your website (or even just one page) with the free platform Siterubix (or Wix) could be a great starting point for total beginners. You can have a go at building your website, either mock or real, instantly.

If you don’t mind the word Siterubix (or Wix) within your website name, then, I think, it’s a no-brainer, because you’ll be saving substantial amounts of money that you’d normally have to spend for hosting your website, the domain name, and, if that’s your choice, a paid easy-to-use builder (like the DIVI theme, or Squarespace all-in-one platform.)

Final Tip:

If you are a complete beginner with no web-building (or WordPress) experience whatsoever, my advice would be to go either for Option 1 or Option 4.

If you have some experience with web building or WordPress, or if you have someone who could help you, then I would suggest following Option 2 or Option 3.

Share Your Website Here!

As already suggested at the beginning of this post, if (or once) you have a website, please share it in the comments below. (Google says that sharing your websites on other websites will improve its SEO (‘Search Engine Optimisation’) – i.e. how quickly your website comes up in search results. So be my guest! 🙂

I hope you have found these tips useful. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them in those comments as well.

Wishing you a lot of creative inspiration and an enjoyable, playful process of building your website!

Free Website with Hosting

If you’d like to create a website with free hosting, you may want to try platforms such as Wix.com, or a website builder called SiteRubix which I can recommend based on my own experience.

Creating a website using SiteRubix is very straightforward, and you’ll get hundreds of professionally designed WordPress themes to choose from.

The following information is for the ones of you who would like to know more about successfully marketing your business. However, if you prefer to just focus on your website and its content, then you can just stop here.

Otherwise, read on to learn about more exciting freebies that will jumpstart your marketing journey!

My Favourite Marketing Platform and Supportive Community

The website builder SiteRubix is run by a friendly marketing platform called Wealthy Affiliate.  I am one of their happy members, and can highly recommend checking them out.

They offer a free starter membership which includes a number of bonuses, including the aforementioned easy-to-build website with hosting.

You can create a free account, which will enable you to make your own website in a few simple steps, and host it with them – free of charge – for as long as you like.

There is one thing to consider: Similarly to wix.com, if you are hosting on a completely free account, your website name will have its name in it – for example aromatherapy.wix.com, or aromatherapy.siterubix.com. If you would like to remove the company name, you would have to upgrade to a paid option, which can be done anytime later.

Earn by Blogging

This is a very interesting feature that is included in your free membership: Once you have built your free website, you can actually monetise it by earning some extra income from blogging.

In your blog posts (or just some of them) you can include links to products you like and would recommend to others. Whenever somebody makes a purchase using your links, you will receive a commission. This is known as affiliate marketing.

If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you will see a real example of affiliate marketing. I have partnered with a number of businesses that I genuinely like and frequently buy from (such as Seasaalt Cornwall or Bamboo Clothing – see the bottom of this page) and I get a commission whenever someone buys something after clicking on my links – with no extra costs to them. You can do the same once you have a functioning website.

If you would like to learn more about this concept, you can take 10 free lessons that are included in your Starter Membership, as described in the next section.

10 Free lessons in Affiliate Marketing

I have taken this course and it has given me invaluable foundations for setting my website, starting and maintaining my online business, and becoming a part of a lovely community of fellow internet marketers, who have always been very helpful and ready to offer advice and guidance.

Here is an outline of the free course:

The First 10 Lessons Can Kickstart Your Business

I do recommend trying these 10 free lessons. The training will provide you with all the knowledge needed to start your own online business and learn about affiliate marketing foundations.

What I really like about Wealthy Affiliate is that signing up with them is completely non-obligatory and you can keep your free account for as long as you wish, without giving them any credit card details.

You can always upgrade to a Premium membership later if you wish (I’ve got it because I wanted to host multiple websites with 24/7 technical support, and I wanted to complete the whole affiliate course), but the free Starter Membership is an excellent testing ground of the world of affiliate marketing and you can start earning commissions even with that.

Good luck and feel free to ask any questions in the comments below, or let me know your thoughts on blogging and online marketing in general.

The Benefits of Working with Meridians

Having worked with the body’s electromagnetic energies for several years now, I am still in awe about the fact that we can reach to each meridian for help with many different aspects of our life.

Meridians are channels of energy that feed specific organs in our body and influence our health and the way we feel. They are also visible to people who can see energies.

According to ancient Chinese wisdom, each meridian is associated with different aspects of our emotions, from fear or anger to joy and deep peace.

Emotion is ultimately energy in motion. Energies in our body can often get blocked or become stagnant which will manifest through feeling bad or becoming ill.

The good news is that we can balance the whole spectrum of emotions by working with each meridian. This, in return, will positively impact our physical health.

What I have observed is that regular work with meridians will soon start manifesting in one’s life by improved well-being on multiple levels.

Meridian Wheel

In August 2022 I released a track called ‘Meridian Wheel – Affirmations’ that contains affirmations linked to each meridian in our body.

I named this track Meridian Wheel because throughout the 24-hour cycle, each of the meridians will be at its peak for 2 hours at a specific time. For example, Spleen is at its peak from 9 am to 11 am, or Heart from 11 am to 1 pm.

Tracking or Visualising

This track can be approached in several ways. It can be listened to while tracing the meridians with your hands, with eyes closed or opened, or lying down while visualising the meridian flow. If you are not familiar with the meridian pathways, it’s not a problem at all – simply tune in to the essence of each meridian and internalise the affirmations.

I hope you enjoy the track which is available on Bandcamp. It can be streamed for free, or downloaded for a symbolical price.

I have downloaded the track in my phone’s files, so I can listen to it offline every morning while doing my energy medicine routine.

Thank you for listening and please let me know your impressions in the comments below. Infinite blessings!
