AN INTERVIEW WITH LUCIE DUN, EEM-CLP
Tell me a bit about yourself, your background, where you live, etc.
Hi, I am Lucie and I am an Eden Energy Medicine Clinical practitioner (EEM-CLP).
There are two countries I hold dear to my heart – the Czech Republic and the UK. I was born and grew up in Prague, and in 2000, when I was 23, I moved to the UK.
My dream was to play keyboards in rock bands and to teach English. During my very first week in the UK, I met the band of my dreams and started playing with them. We performed at many venues and festivals, including Glastonbury.
I also started studying English, did my CAE and CPE Cambridge exams, and in 2004 I became a qualified TEFL teacher. One of my fondest memories is teaching in a small English college in Museum Street, near The British Museum in London. I loved the family atmosphere of the college, with international students from all over the world. It was such a fun and creative job.
In the following years, I also worked as an assistant for people with physical disabilities and volunteered at homeless shelters, spending nights in church halls with the guests. I witnessed stories of deep suffering as well as hope.
Now I live with my husband Aidan and our dog Orson in a small village near Guildford, Surrey, surrounded by beautiful hilly countryside. We moved here after 18 years of living in London, when we felt that our city chapter was complete and wished to be closer to nature.
How did you discover energy medicine? What led you to it?
One summer day, in 2018, when we still lived in London, something strange happened to me. I was at home with Aidan, expecting a visit from a good friend of ours, when all of a sudden I could feel distinct electrical energy leaving my body through my arms. I was observing this sensation with a mixture of anxiety and curiosity – it felt as if I was connected to a cable, feeling the buzzing and the movement of the electric current very distinctly.
This was the first time ever that I experienced losing energy – but not in the usual way of getting tired; this type of energy was tangible, buzzing, moving – it felt like an electric current.
In similar way that electricity gives power to electrical appliances, I felt that this force that was travelling through my arms and out of my body was the energy that was keeping me ‘switched on’ like an electrical appliance; and now, as it was leaving me, I started losing the strength to stand, and eventually slumped to the floor.
This was followed by a series of blackouts – all I could see was darkness, although I was conscious. It felt as if there was a light bulb in my head that kept switching on and off due to intermittent power cuts.
It all got quite scary. I thought I might have been poisoned, or something like that. My husband and our friend, who arrived in the middle of this, called an ambulance.
As I was driven to the hospital, I could hear the ambulance staff saying ‘possible heart attack’. I remember thinking: “I wasn’t expecting to die today, but it seems my time has come.” (I was 41 at that time.) Strangely enough, these thoughts were not accompanied by emotions of fear or panic; I was acknowledging the grim possibility quite factually, almost surrendering to it.
However, after several hours in the hospital (where I was unconscious most of the time) I was released without any diagnosis. It was rather puzzling that the whole team of medical staff (as well as all the hi-tech diagnostic equipment I was connected to) couldn’t say what was happening to my body.
The last strange thing was that as I came round and was led by my husband through the long corridor towards the exit, I could only walk extremely slowly because my body felt as if it was made of concrete. Or, that the air around me was as thick as concrete and I couldn’t push through it.
I had to develop a huge effort to light my legs, as if they were attached to heavy weights. It was like watching slowed-down film footage. To this day I am not sure what caused this state; perhaps the electrical energy that I was losing earlier that day was still too weak..?
The whole experience made me strongly interested in the electrical aspect of the body; I wanted to learn about that inner energy that animates us, that makes it possible to walk and move our limbs with ease, rather than heaviness…I no longer took it for granted!
So when I learned about ‘the Queen of Energy Medicine’, Donna Eden, who often quotes Einstein’s E = mc2 – meaning that energy and matter are interchangeable, i.e. they’re just different forms of the same thing – and that we can work with energy and influence it to benefit our health, I jumped at the first opportunity to learn more about it.
I got Donna’s book ‘Energy Medicine’, watched dozens of her videos, and enrolled in her Certification Program. Two years later, I became a certified practitioner. I loved it so much that I enrolled for another year to become a Clinical Practitioner.
What do you like the most about Eden Energy Medicine? Why would you recommend it to others?
I love the fact how deceptively simple the techniques can appear, but how effective they can be. I remember, when I was still learning the basics, how excited I always was when I could see that the techniques really ‘worked’.
For example, a friend of mine was in quite intense pain from her period. I had just learned some techniques for pain-relief, so we decided to try them. I gently held a set of acupressure points on her, and after about three minutes she looked at me with a mixture of excitement and disbelief, saying that the pain had completely gone.
What I also like about Eden Method is the ‘energy detective’ aspect. A client might come to us with a certain issue, e.g. a pain in a specific area; although as energy medicine practitioners we are not allowed to make any medical diagnosis, we can ‘ask the body’ instead, by tracking the client’s energies.
To track energies, we use energy testing tools adapted from kinesiology; this helps us assess the strength of energy flow through specific muscles or other systems, which can reveal various imbalances (e.g. too little or too much energy in a given area, polarity issues, etc). We can then apply specific techniques or protocols to balance those systems.
I can never forget the words of a little girl who came to me for a session, accompanied by her mother. At the end of the session, she said in her sweet childlike way: “If there is a job such as energy detective, then you are pretty good at it.” It makes me smile to this day.
I can recommend Energy Medicine to others because I have seen how much it has helped people who practice it, and how it has helped me personally; I used to be very vulnerable to catching colds, but since I committed to a daily practice of simple energy medicine techniques, my immune system has become remarkably stronger. There was an uninterrupted period of four years when I didn’t catch a single cold! I also became much more emotionally resilient.
These energy medicine techniques are called The Daily Energy Routine. They were compiled by Donna Eden, who selected the most effective techniques from her more than 40 years long practice.
This leads me to another reason I love Energy Medicine – the fact that this modality is such an empowering tool; that we can learn simple techniques that will make us feel better physically and emotionally, and reach for them whenever we wish.
Unlike some modalities where clients are dependent on receiving treatments, in Eden Energy Medicine the clients might come for a few sessions, or even just one, and they will leave equipped with self-care techniques that they can do at home daily, and thus take their health into their own hands – literally.
Tell me a bit more about your practice; where do you work, and what are the most common issues that bring your clients to you?
I offer energy healing sessions from my home studio in Surrey, UK, near Guildford. I also work from a holistic therapy centre called Surrey Holistic, based in nearby Godalming.
I also do online sessions, where I lead my clients through techniques specific to their situation.
The type of clients who come to me most often are mostly people with low immunity, chronic fatigue, unexplained or long-term pain, anxiety, insomnia, and emotional issues.
In the very thorough 3 years of Eden Method training, we have learned and practiced multiple protocols, including protocols for hormonal balance, recovering from cancer, or heart health, so I also accept clients who seek support in these areas.
Are there any other modalities you practice?
Yes, I am also a certified Biofield Tuning Practitioner. I use the sound and vibration of tuning forks to help restore coherence in the human Biofield. This is similar to tuning an instrument. If you feel ‘out of tune’, try a Biofield Tuning session. This modality is compatible with Energy Medicine, because both work with electromagnetic waves and frequencies. I have written more about it in a post about Biofield Tuning. I often integrate Biofield Tuning protocols into my Energy medicine sessions.
How can people find out more about you? Through a website or social media?

Is there anything specific you would like to offer our readers? For example, a digital or physical product, a live or online course/workshop, an upcoming event, a retreat, etc.?
Yes, I am pleased to offer four things:
First, I have created a 5-minute meditative soundtrack with meridian affirmations. I listen to it in the morning while tracing my meridians, or just tuning into the energy of each meridian.
I also think it’s a good study tool for energy medicine students, as it will help them remember what emotions are associated with specific meridians.
You can find the track on this page:
Secondly, I’ve compiled several charts for EEM practitioners – e.g. a very detailed chart for The Star Diagnostic protocol (for Year 2 students) with all the instructions and emotions, so the practitioners can fully focus on this powerful protocol, rather than trying to remember all the steps and emotions.
Or the Five Rhythms diagram with a number of useful details, such as the specific exercises and sounds for each rhythm.
The charts are downloadable from the page Shop.
Thirdly, I can recommend a useful resource page called ‘Tools for Energy Medicine Practitioners’. My aim was to create a time-saving resource for EEM practitioners and students.
Last, but not least, I would like to share something amazing I discovered in June 2024 through one of the stars of Energy Medicine EEM – Simone Salewski.
It is a sophisticated vessel that infuses water with molecular hydrogen. This smallest and lightest molecule in the whole cosmos has enormous potential and can power up your cells and provide numerous benefits to the body, from anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, to anti-allergic and anti-aging.
If you should leave this page with only two takeaways, it should be 1) Donna Eden’s Daily Energy Routine and 2) molecular hydrogen, because both can be lifechanging. It has been for me, and many others. You can find all the relevant information on my Home page.
You can also download a free PDF with an overview of the benefits of molecular hydrogen – simply click on the image below.
Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers at the end of this interview?
Yes. I believe that we, the practitioners of holistic healing, shouldn’t underestimate the importance of self-care – i.e. frequently recharging our energy so we can then abundantly share it with others.
One of my favourite ways to recharge is to have exchange sessions with my colleagues from the holistic healing field. This can be either with fellow practitioners of Eden Energy Medicine, or with my colleagues at Surrey Holistic, who practice different kinds of modalities.
If you are a practitioner and have a holistic centre in your area, I strongly recommend joining it so you can network with your colleagues, explore various healing modalities, and mutually receive treatments, which is a beautiful way of energy exchange.
Have Your Own Spotlight Page!
If you are an EEM practitioner, or a practitioner of another modality of alternative medicine, and would like to be featured on one of my ‘Spotlight on a Practitioner’ pages where you can showcase your practice and offer your services, please feel free to get in touch.
You can either send me a message via Facebook Messenger, or send me an email.
My great wish is that these interviews will contribute to learning about each other and promoting our work within the field of holistic healing and beyond.

Learn about ENERGY MEDICINE:
WHAT IS ENERGY MEDICINE
This article explains the concept of energy medicine as an empowering self-care tool. You will also meet one of the most amazing pioneers of this modality, Donna Eden, and learn a simple, yet effective set of techniques called The Daily Energy Routine. This deceptively simple practice has improved the lives of many, mine included. If you’d like to have more energy, a stronger immune system, and balanced emotions, I highly recommend practicing it daily.
THE BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH MERIDIANS
Meridians are channels of energy that feed specific organs in our body and influence our health and the way we feel. According to ancient Chinese wisdom, each meridian is associated with different aspects of our emotions, from fear or anger to joy and deep peace. We can balance the whole spectrum of emotions by working with each meridian.
ENERGY MEDICINE TOOLS
On this page, you will find a whole range of useful things for your energy medicine studies or practice – from essential tools for your sessions and self-care to recommended books and apps. If you are new to energy medicine, I recommed visiting the book section and check Donna Eden’s book ‘Energy Medicine’ and ‘Energy Medicine for Women’.
